Competitive Pricing

Competitive Pricing is per-merchant competitor tracking — not a shared index.

How matching works

You add up to 5 competitor URLs. Cipzo crawls those specific sites and matches your SKUs to theirs via barcode (exact GTIN/UPC), SKU code (vendor SKU), or manual (operator-confirmed).

Configuration

Add or remove competitor URLs from the Competitive Pricing settings page. Cipzo accepts standard catalog URLs from any Shopify store; other retailers are best-effort.

Reading the data

Match quality is reported per row:

  • barcode — exact GTIN/UPC match, highest confidence
  • sku — vendor SKU match, high confidence if SKUs are standardized
  • manual — operator-confirmed, used when automatic matching fails

Limitations

  • Only works for branded goods with shared barcodes/SKUs across merchants.
  • Unique / private-label / custom products won’t have matches.
  • Some competitor sites block bots — when this happens Cipzo surfaces “data unavailable” rather than guessing.

Example — Meridian Supply

Tracking 5 competitors across 234 matched SKUs. Priced above market on 23 SKUs. Estimated price-test impact: ~$3,400/mo if priced to median.
